But you don't weigh all the evidence. You selectively ignore
most of it. When you run into a contradiction with your
own (fallible) intuition, you explain it away as "Oh, this
time it's figurative.
You're not consistant and you're not logical.

NO, it is not hard at all. You agree to the most central of the dogmas condemned
by the Council of Arles as 'predestinarianism' in:
