Heh heh. Nice to start my day off with a chuckle. Want to
explain how his assertion and tactics are different from yours?

You mean things like evolution?

This is why, ever so long ago, I posted a rather lengthy and intricate
paper on SRC on the issue of methodology or hermeneutics. It is
because there are different schools of interpretation that we have
differences. Even within the various schools, individuals do not
always adhere to their exegetical principles.
But for the common man, the biggest problem I see all too often is the
confusion between interpretation and application. Preachers by in
large do not exegete the passages they teach from. Rather, they draw
an analysis and make an application. Thus their congregations follow
suit when they read the scriptures for themselves.
An example. In last weeks sunday school, the topic of creationism vs
traducianism arose (not that any one there understood it as such).
Some one led the class from Gen 3 over to 1 Tim 2:13, 14. Nothing
wrong with that. I amended a comment that the fall involved the
federal nature of Adam but pointing out that Christ was born of a
woman, not a man. After class a woman came up to me and pointed to v.
15, saying, "See! This correlates with the traducian model."
(paraphrasing, of course :).
