It is true that neither Genesis nor Hebrews says "taken up". The one says
"taken" and the other says "translated".
But there is a book you are forgetting about. And even if you reject its
canonicity, it would be _highly_ unreasonable for you to ignore its witness. For
even considered as uncanonical, it is a VERY important witness for how the Jews
themselves interpreted Gen 5:21-24. It is Sir 44:16 which reads:
Enoch pleased the Lord, and WAS TAKEN UP;
he was an example of repentance to all generations. (Sir 44:16 RSVA)
So you see, you were far too facile when you insisted that "the Bible does not
say Enoch was taken *up*". If you accept Sirach, AS YOU SHOULD, then yes, it
DOES say "taken up".
Even more interesting, where the RSV translators have 'taken up', the Rahlf's
LXX text has METETEQH, the very word you try to deny means 'taken up'!

For that matter, all your abundant verbiage hides what you missed in all of
Genesis chapter 5: there is something UNIQUE about the Enoch entry in the
genealogies. Where all the _other_ genealogies say "he died", THIS genealogy
says, "God took him". It is s-o-o-o-o conspicuous! Not only does it never say
"he died", but in the very place where all the others die, it says "God took
him". Take the hint, at last! It is because he did not die, and just as the wise
commentator on the Tanach (Sirach) said, he was taken UP into Paradise.
None of your tiresome verbiage (which I snipped) can properly take into account
this aspect of the composition of Gen chapter 5. Is that why you try to hide
your error under so much verbiage, NONE of which is on the mark?
