If society handled the situation as it should, society would, with all
deliberate speed, see that she became a widow, and as such, she could
avoid divorce and then could marry again (or stay single). If she
chooses to take another husband, hopefully she will make a better
choice the second time around.

Right. But as always, you read into the passage _that which is not
there_ . Is belief the result of what man does, or what God does in
man? You always _assume_ the former; Scripture always affirms the
latter.
