Pity? From a false teacher? Please.
I dare you: show me the Scripture which supports your claim.
Proof that you are wrong:
So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you
were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us.
[2 Thess 2:15, NASB]
What part of "whether by word of mouth of by letter" do you NOT understand???

Given that a) the Universe is around 10 billion years old; b) earth is
around 4.5 billion years old; c) the total water available on the earth
is relatively constant; and d) there is insufficient water to cover the
earth as it existed 5000 years ago we must conclude that Genesis is a
parable, not historical and scientific fact, as we would mean those terms
today.
You remind me more and more of the "Know Nothings" from the 19th Century.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Know_Nothing
Nothing in the Scriptures requires that we read Genesis 1&2 as literal
history.
The Orthodox Church generally has not had a problem with science - this
is a feature of Western Christianity.
>There is only one tradition given to the Church, and that is the
>inspired Word of God.
False on its face. The Scriptures state that ALL the teaching of the
Apostles is tradition.
>2 Tim. 2:1-2 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in
>Christ Jesus. And the things which you have heard from me in the
>presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be
>able to teach others also.
Funny, you seem to have missed THIS:
Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you
because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the traditions,
just as I delivered them to you.
[1 Cor 11:1-2, NASB]
and:
It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain
the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brethren, stand firm
and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of
mouth or by letter from us.
[2 Thess 2:14-15, NASB]
The Scriptures refute you. As always.
