You sooooooooooooooooooo don't get the point here. It's not that
God can lie and then define lying as good, it's that if God speaks
something, His very speaking of it makes it true. If He says
"the earth is flat", then the earth becomes flat. He doesn't lie,
He pronounces.
The universe conforms itself to God. Not vv, as you would
have it.

Tom,
One can find the 'once saved always saved' situation in the Bible if
they look for it, and ignore the other scriptures.
For example the founder of Christianity made this statement at John
3:36,
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the
Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." " (NIV)
But Jesus also said at Mt 24:13,
"But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved." (NASB)
Thus according to the founder himself, attaining salvation is an
ongoing conditional situation, only achieved at the "end".
Thus we must study all relevant scriptures on a subject in order to
derive the truth about it. And concerning salvation, the scriptures
clearly tell us that it is always our PRESENT standing with God that
counts, not just what we were at some time in the past. And we have to
CONTINUALLY be on our guard not to fall, thus we have to 'endure to the
end in order to be saved'. (Mt 24:13)
Sincerely, James
